BusBuffer-Slide5

Analog Devices offers a family of I²C bus buffers with unique and convenient features. High logic low-noise margin allows these bus buffers to operate with other non-compliant I²C devices that drive a high logic low-output voltage. It also permits a number of these bus buffers to be connected in series, improving the reliability of I²C communications in large noisy systems. Rise time acceleration and stuck bus protection resolve common issues which will be discussed in the next two slides. Wide level shifting capabilities allows the bus buffers to bridge I²C busses that are being pulled up to different supplies, ranging from 1.5V to 5V. All Analog Devices bus buffers have at least ±2kV HBM ESD protection, with some devices boasting up to ±15kV for increased ruggedness. This is useful in hot swap applications which require human contact with the bus buffer. Almost all of these devices are available in both an MSOP and 3x3 DFN package.
