The LTC3255 uses an internal switch network and fractional conversion ratios to achieve high efficiency and regulation over widely varying input voltage and output load conditions. The device can function as a current-boosting voltage regulator. Its defeatable VIN shunt regulator allows the IC to operate with current-fed input voltage supplies, such as supplying over 7mA in a 4mA to 20mA current loop application.
