Many of ST’s technologies are aimed at wireless infrastructure, cellular base stations. ST offers high performance from their synthesizers and down converters that are used in these applications. These products are in use in many base stations by key base station manufacturers at this time. ST has continued to invest in this area with a new design kit released a couple of years ago for the BiCMOS6 and BiCMOS7 processes. There is also the 130-nanometer BiCMOS9MW process which is used in many optical communications and radar/satellite communications applications. The new 55-nanometer process will be coming out, which will be good for full chip, system-on-chip integration in addition to the RF-CMOS technology, down to 28-nanometers for transceivers and similar applications. As can be seen, ST has a broad portfolio of technologies.
