CC3100-CC3200 SimpleLink Wi-Fi Slide 9

The SimpleLink Wi-Fi family has two members – CC3100 and CC3200. CC3100 is a Wireless Networking Solution which can be paired with any external MCU. This solution has SPI and UART interfaces, fully integrated Wi-Fi driver and TCP/IP stack, and integrated internet protocols such as mDNS, SSL/TLS. The CC3200 is a Wireless MCU that includes the same wireless networking solution as CC3100. In addition it has a programmable MCU based on ARM Cortex M4. It has peripheral interfaces besides the SPI and UART, such as: parallel interface, I2S audio, SDMMC, ADC, I2C, and PWMs. Because the Wi-Fi driver and internet protocols are integrated in the solution it makes creating IoT solutions easier for customers who are not experts in these areas.
