SimpleLink supports 3 provisioning methods: AP mode – which is to connect to the device from any Smartphone or tablet and configure using the phone’s user interface (UI), is industry’s most common provisioning method. WPS – which requires both AP support and physical access to the product, is the industry standard. SmartConfig – which is TI’s Propriety method is one step and provides secure configuration. It does not work in all network topologies and across all phones. If designers use it, they should have a fall back option to AP mode or WPS.
