LTpowerPlay™ is a user-friendly GUI that allows the designer to connect a PC to the LTC2974 and configure all of the LTC2974’s features without ever having to write any code. The GUI provides a design environment for the power supplies which allows the designer to get up and running quickly, while providing valuable feedback for optimizing supplies. The designer can even remotely troubleshoot designs from anywhere in the world. Rich, interactive and powerful, LTpowerPlay™ allows programming of multiple LTC2974s on the same screen in one session. There are multiple views from the system level tree down to the register level. Its easy accessibility includes allowing one to simply enter in a voltage when trimming or margining. A “Why Am I Off?” feature quickly tells the designer the reason a power supply is off, whether it is because the user commanded it off, it faulted, or many other reasons. For those who want to develop firmware and write PMBus code, LTpowerPlay™ guides one on how to write firmware by displaying the format of each register, sort of like an Excel formula. LTpowerPlay™ includes training videos and quick links to online and local technical support. Once configuration is complete, the GUI generates a configuration file specific to the system that can be used to program devices.
