As noted in the previous slide, B type receptacles come in standard, mid-plane and reverse type mounting options. AB type receptacles are available in standard and reverse types. The mid-plane, or recessed style in the B type, requires that a notch or recess be cut in the PCB. The benefit of Hirose’s version is that mounting mid-plane, reduces the overall height of the connector on the PCB.
