In recent years, various systems have been rapidly advancing to improve energy savings, safety and convenience in automobiles. There is a growing demand to improve noise immunity following the digitization and increase in density of automotive electrical systems. There are several sources of noise within vehicles. In the case of a conventional low-noise-tolerant OpAmp shown in the upper diagram here, noise from the sensor’s output signal and OpAmp are amplified at the same time, which may cause the system to malfunction. However, when using ROHM’s high-noise-tolerance OpAmp in the lower diagram, only the signal source is amplified, ensuring normal system operation. This is why ROHM’s OpAmp, featuring noise tolerance is preferred over the conventional OpAmp solution.
