Welcome to the onsemi Clock and Data Distribution Products - Part 1 product training module. This presentation will provide an overview of the technical concepts required to understand timing devices in general. It will review Phase Lock Loop, or PLL, concepts and highlight each major building block of a PLL, the Phase Frequency Detector (PFD), the Loop Filter (LF) and the Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO). Lastly, the tutorial will discuss jitter, the most important technical parameter when evaluating timing solutions. Part 2 of the training will present the different types of clocks that make up the onsemi portfolio, and present a number of clock tree examples in different market segments and applications.
