NXP Semiconductors' CBTL02042A / B and CBTL02043A / B are two differential channel, 2-to-1 multiplexer / demultiplexer (mux / demux) switches for PCI Express Gen2 (CBTL02042A / B) and Gen3 (CBTL02043A / B) or other high-speed serial interface applications. These devices can switch two differential signals to one of two locations. Using a unique design technique, NXP has minimized the impedance of the switch in such a way that the attenuation observed through the switch is negligible, and also minimized the channel-to-channel skew as well as channel-to-channel crosstalk, as required by the high-speed serial interface. These devices also allow expansion of existing high speed ports for extremely low power. These mux / demux switches are suitable for routing high-speed signals in applications with PCIe Gen2 (CBTL02042A/B), PCIe Gen 3 (CBTL02043A/B), DisplayPort 1.2, USB 3.0, and SATA 6 Gbit/s.
