The energy field radiated from the inductor may be induced into other circuits. This usually causes undesirable results. That is why the recommendation of no PCB circuit patterns beneath the inductor. In the images shown on this slide the highest intensity or strongest magnetic field is indicated with the red color. In actuality this field may also be present radiating through the PC board. Advances in PC board technologies include multiple layers which reduce this effect.
