app diagram
The diagram shown here has been extracted from the Analog Devices datasheet and depicts an application reference diagram. Analog Devices specifies that the transformer primarily used with the ADM2482 and ADM2487 must be a center-tapped transformer winding. Additionally, the turns ratio of the transformer must be set to provide the minimum required output voltage at the maximum anticipated load with the minimum input voltage. The Analog Devices datasheet also specifies its approved transformer suppliers and, as shown here, Murata is one of the two listed suppliers. So an engineer designing-in these transceivers from Analog Devices is more likely to design-in Murata’s transformer, as Analog Devices has already fully tested and qualified it, rather than the engineer having to waste time doing the same. Furthermore, compared to its competitors, the 782482 transformer not only boasts a smaller footprint, but is also offered at a lower price.
