In today’s high availability and high power environments, systems need to run with no downtime and on very high currents. If a component of this system fails it will need to be replaced without any interruption of the system. Some devices may have high load currents and/or large capacitors which demand high inrush currents on power up leading to large voltage and current transients on the backplane. These transients can be responsible for interrupting adjacent cards on the system.
