There are currently two standards for the wireless power transfer: Qi standard by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and Airfuel Alliance, a merger of the former Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP) and Power Matters Alliance (PMA). Airfuel Alliance uses two different technologies, a closely coupled (PMA) and a loosely coupled (A4WP) technology.
