The AMPMODU MTE product family is a post and receptacle interconnection system on a .100 inch centerline grid.  It consists of thermoplastic housings and receptacle contacts which mate to .025 inch square posts. The key elements of the system are the latching housing which maximizes retention and the Insulation Displacement Contacts (IDC) which shortens termination time by removing the wire stripping step commonly performed in most types of wire crimps. This is done by forcing an un-stripped wire between two beams on a contact. These beams then slice through the insulation and make contact with the wire. AMPMODU MTE also offers interchangeable crimp snap-in contacts allowing customers to utilized existing semi-automatic and automatic equipment, while gaining AMPMODU MTE’s latching feature.
