ST has two different evaluation kits the USB dongle or the Wi-Fi network processor. For the USB dongle there is a Wi-Fi module and a USB connector to easily connect to a PC. Using a simple serial terminal one can test the module and send AT commands, also connect the module to the internet and do some simple test. This would be a good first step for any user to get used to the AT commands of the module. The second is a Wi-Fi module evaluation board and an STM32F0 Discovery kit. With this combination, it is possible to create an autonomous node using the Wi-Fi module. St offers firmware examples in order to do this directly on ST’s web site.
