While there are a number of features highlighting Murata’s power over Ethernet isolated DC-DC Converter, of particular interest to the design engineer would be the Vin range and 240W of output power. This module is capable of powering eight PoE ports at 30W each while meeting the isolation / insulation requirements of IEEE 802.3 for PoE. There are also features that are incorporated into the module that protect Vout by limiting Vout to 60V under a single fault condition; 60V is the SELV (Safety Extra Low Voltage) requirement for PoE compliant power. Other features include Efficiency of 94%, Power Good Signal, Thermal Protection, and Remote On/Off Control.
