IC = NS) ADM00812: 5 Buck + 1 Boost Converter, 2.4 ~ 5.5V in

Summary

MIC7401 Evaluation Board was developed to evaluate the capabilities of the MIC7401 Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC). The board features 5 DC-DC buck converters capable of delivering 3A each and a boost converter with a 200mA current capability and I2C programmable output voltages.

The MIC7401 Evaluation Board also features the MCP2221 USB to I2C bridge that enables direct communication and programming functionality by connecting the MIC7401 to the Graphic User's Interface (GUI).

The MIC7401 is a powerful, highly-integrated, configurable, power-management IC (PMIC) featuring five synchronous buck regulators, one boost regulator, and high-speed I2 C interface with an internal EEPROM and micro-power shutdown. The device offers two distinct modes of operation "standby mode" and "normal mode".

In normal mode, the programmable switching converters can be configured to support a variety of features, including start-up sequencing, timing, soft-start ramp, output voltage levels, current-limit levels, and output discharge for each channel.

In standby mode the PMIC can configured in a low power state by either disabling an output or by changing the output voltage to a lower level. Independent exit from standby mode can be achieved either by I2C communication or the external STBY pin.

Please review the MIC7401 Datasheet in conjunction with the Evaluation Board User Guide for a complete understanding of the device function.
