TLV61070A Boost Converter
Texas Instruments' 2.5 A synchronous step-up converter offers an ultra-low input voltage of 0.5 V
Texas Instruments' TLV61070A is a synchronous boost converter with an ultra-low 0.5 V input voltage providing a power supply solution for portable equipment and smart devices powered by various batteries and supercapacitors. The typical valley switch current limit is 2.5 A over the full temperature range. With a wide input voltage range of 0.5 V to 5.5 V, this device supports supercapacitor backup power applications, which may deeply discharge the supercapacitor.

The typical valley switch current limit is 2.5 A over the full temperature range. With a wide input voltage range of 0.5 V to 5.5 V, this device supports supercapacitor backup power applications, which may deeply discharge the supercapacitor.
The TLV61070A operates at a switching frequency of 1 MHz when the input voltage is greater than 1.5 V. The switching frequency decreases gradually to 0.55 MHz when the input voltage is 1 V to 1.5 V. The converter enters power-save mode at light load conditions to maintain high efficiency over the load current range. The converter consumes a 20 µA quiescent current from VOUT in light load conditions. During shutdown, the TLV61070A is completely disconnected from the input power and consumes a current of 0.1 µA to achieve a long battery life. Other features include 5.7 V output overvoltage protection (OVP), output short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown protection. The device offers a very small solution size available in a 2.9 mm x 1.6 mm SOT23-6 (DBV) package and minimal external components.
