Image of NXP's i.MX RT1040 Crossover MCU NXP's i.MX RT1040 crossover MCUs are part of the EdgeVerse™ edge computing platform and add additional flexibility with additional packages and an extended temperature range of up to +125°C. The i.MX RT1040 MCU has a compact 9 mm x 9 mm package as well as the 11 mm x 11 mm package that supports implementing a two-layer PCB design. The i.MX RT1040 MCUs run on the Arm® Cortex®-M7 core at 600 MHz. The i.MX RT1040 is supported by an extensive developer ecosystem, featuring the MCUXpresso suite of software and tools for an optimal microcontroller design experience.

The i.MX RT1040 EVK is a low-cost, two-layer, through-hole USB-powered PCB. At its heart lies the i.MX RT1040 crossover MCU featuring NXP’s advanced implementation of the Arm Cortex-M7 core. This core operates at speeds up to 600 MHz to provide high CPU performance and excellent real-time response.
