Les circuits logiques programmables complexes (CPLD) sont des circuits intégrés configurables par l'utilisateur, utilisés pour le traitement de l'information et pour effectuer des opérations logiques, et ils intègrent un niveau de fonctionnalité plus élevé (c'est-à-dire, plus de portes logiques) que le niveau caractéristique des dispositifs PLD ou PAL, mais moins que celui des FPGA. Les CPLD intègrent typiquement une mémoire de configuration non volatile qui permet le stockage et la rétention de la configuration souhaitée de l'utilisateur directement sur le dispositif, avec rétention de ces informations lorsque l'alimentation du dispositif est coupée.
